How do I book a session with you?
Visit the Contact link at the top of the page to initiate a conversation with me. We will discuss how you envision capturing your memories – location, clothes, feel. Then we will set up a date and time. I will email you a photography session contract which I ask you to print, sign, and return to me with your non-refundable session fee. I must receive this one week prior to your session date.
When will I see my photos?
When I return home from a session, I immediately backup your photos. Within a couple days I will post a sneak peek on my FaceBook page. Within 1 to 2 weeks I will post a preview on my Blog. Your full online proofing gallery will be ready within 2 to 4 weeks. Turn around time varies depending on my photography schedule and family commitments.
What should I wear?
You will feel best and look best in what you love. If you have a favorite sweater or necklace, build your outfit around that! When dressing several family members, try to coordinate, but don’t match. Also take into consideration your session location and weather. If it’s cold, wear a brightly colored scarf. If your session is at a barn, wear some funky cowboy boots. Don’t be afraid to have fun with your wardrobe and play up the accessories!
What determines the investment cost?
Many people look at a photographer’s fees and their jaw drops. Why do photographers charge so much? The long answer can be found here: MCP Actions. The short answer lies in equipment (camera, lenses, computer, software, transportation), recurring expenses (taxes, insurance, office supplies, printing), and man hours (communication with client, session time, post-processing, and order fulfillment). As the business owner of MEP I have to place a value on my time and talent. You can not run a successful, legal, sustained business and be cheap.
Can I use a photo as my profile picture on social networking sites?
Yes! However, please do not edit the photo in any way, including cropping. I watermark my photos in order to protect my business’ image and copyrighted work. Thanks :)
What equipment do you use for photography and post-processing?
I shoot with a Canon 60D. My lenses are a Canon 50mm f/1.4, Canon 85mm f/1.8, and Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8. I have a mobile studio which includes a variety of backdrops, props, and a Canon Speedlite 430ex ii. I shoot in manual and RAW. I process my photos primarily in Adobe LightRoom3 and PhotoShop CS3.
